Description
Breathtakingly beautiful in a gown of cobalt blue velvet accented by a lace white stole, Scarlet O'Hara Butler posed for a portrait in her elegant mansion postwar Atlanta. However, both the gown and the portrait session existed only in the imagination of an artist on the set of the classic film Gone with the Wind. Responding to the script, the artist had quicky created a nearly life-size portrait of Scarlett to hang in Rhett Butler's bedroom. There it became the target for a glass thrown by Rhett following a landmark quarrel with his enchanting but ever vain wife.
