Description

Walt Disney's classic animated feature film, Cinderella marked its fortieth anniversary in 1990, and the world joined in the celebration.

Cinderella is forced to cook and clean house for her cruel stepmother and stepsisters. But she befriends the resident mice, Jaq and Gus, and the birds who visit her attic windowsill. With them, she shares her song of hope.

Meanwhile, the king, who is seeking a bride for his son, announces a Royal Birthday Ball for the prince and invites all the eligible young ladies of the kingdom. Cinderella's stepmother and step-sisters laugh at Cinderella when she asks to attend. Determined to go to the ball, Cinderella plans to remake an old gown, but when she is too busy to fix the dress, her mice and bird friends surprise her by making it for her. When her stepsisters discover the gown, they tear it to shreds and leave for the ball. Left behind, Cinderella runs to the garden, weeping. Her Fairy Godmother magically appears. With a flick of her magic wand she turns a pumpkin into a luxurious carriage. Cinderella's mice friends become majestic horses, her tattered dress is transformed into a breathtaking gown, and on her tiny feet shine dazzling glass slippers.

Her Fairy Godmother sends her off to the ball, cautioning her to return at midnight when the magic ends.

The Prince is enchanted when Cinderella arrives. The entire ensemble watches as the love- struck couple dance. But as the clock strikes twelve, Cinderella dashes from her Prince's arms, leaving one glass slipper behind on the palace steps. At the final stroke of twelve, her dress, the coach and the horses return to their former state and the magic seems over forever.

Finding the slipper, the Prince searches desperately for the unknown beauty, sending messengers to try the slipper on every young lady in the kingdom. Cinderella's stepmother locks her in the garret, but she is rescued by her devoted animal friends. Cinderella runs downstairs to try on the tiny glass slipper, but it crashes onto the floor. All seems hopeless, until Cinderella shyly brings forth the other slipper which fits her perfectly.

Cinderella's little friends watch joyfully as a splendid royal wedding takes place.

Now, Walt Disney's lovely princess, Cinderella, complete with her glass slipper, is brought to life in Franklin Heirloom Dolls' spectacular collector doll.
